Friends and family,
I am about to lose everything I own, and I need your help.
Last year, I lost my job and subsequently, my home as well. I have been living in my car since last July. It has been 7 months now.
While my boyfriend and I have been able to sustain ourselves busking (street performing, we are musicians), a series of dire family crises (yes, we sent money to help), bad weather (remember all that rain?), vehicle troubles, and an indefinitely delayed tax return, have us in a bind that we will not be able overcome by the deadline.
My car, (aka our home), is scheduled for repossession, and my storage unit will be auctioned if I do not settle with them next week (3/10) and empty it on 3/13.
I originally wrote a long beautiful narrative for you, but the app refreshed and deleted it, so this is the second version. It is less detailed and less poetic, but it is honest: I need help. And since I can't do it on my own, I have to ask.
My immediate needs are $955 to catch up on two car payments and stop the repo and $700 to settle with PODS and to save all of my belongings (my children's baby photos, all of my clothing, my passport, birth certificate, etc. I plan on giving away my furniture once I gain access again so I don't have the continued storage expense).
Other needs are to pay my car insurance $206 (due 3/11) and my vehicle registration, $800 (due by month's end).
If I can do these things, I will still have a place to live and still have the keepsakes and momentos that mean the world to me.
