It’s been a challenging year since Godfrey was detained and, eventually, deported. Time has both flown and crawled, leaving a mix of emotions that are hard to capture. I’m here in Covington, Georgia, trying to keep our household running while also supporting him as he starts over in Jamaica. Balancing these responsibilities is tough, and I often find myself overwhelmed by the weight of it all.
The financial strain is compounded by the emotional distance, as we navigate this uncertain path apart yet together in spirit. Each day brings new hurdles, from maintaining our home to helping Godfrey rebuild his life from afar. The $20,000 goal isn't just a number; it represents stability for us both and the hope that we can overcome this separation with dignity and resilience.
Even in these moments of difficulty, I hold onto the warmth of shared memories and the belief that brighter days are ahead. This journey has taught me the strength of community and the importance of holding onto the threads of love and support that bind us.
