Our story begins April 2022 when my now partner and I fled a domestic violence situation. We spent a month in a hotel with our 3 fur babies before being able to lock down an apartment suitable for our big family. Things went well for those first few months we had a fresh start a new home and we were free. Our dogs began adjusting to a home that was filled with nothing but love instead of the previous environment where they were constantly in fear of being mistreated at no fault of their own. In the midst of the world living with a pandemic hanging over our heads my partner lost her job after testing positive with covid herself. I myself lost my job a month later due to my body’s failure to cooperate with me later finding out that I had fibromyalgia. As we began to adjust to what life looked like for us now, my partner received a diagnosis of pars defect and spondleothesis after months of being in excruciating pain with zero answers. We spent the next few months in and out of the Doctors offices trying to treat our diagnosis to the best of our abilities when I had to make the tough choice to slow down drs visits and put myself back to work to keep a roof over our heads. That brings us to today, one day after being tboned in an intersection after a man failed to yield at a red light blowing through it totaling our vehicle and injuring my partner and sustaining minor injuries myself. I was 1 minute away from pulling into the parking lot for my first day at my new job. I was 1 minute away from being able to pay our rent next month. 1 minute away from life changing for the better. This job is productivity based and because I was unable to show up yesterday I lost my position.
The funds we are attempting to collect would cover our rent which is $1315 dog food for the next month for our 3 dogs medical bills any medications that may be prescribed other treatments such as physical therapy funds for public transportation as i begin to apply for jobs again and small household items such as toilet paper, laundry detergent etc. that may hold us over until im able to lock down a job again. If anything just being able to pay our rent and feed our dogs is the most important thing for us to avoid losing our home and our dogs having to go without as a result.
