Hi everyone, it’s Vivienne :)
First and foremost, if you are reading this we love and appreciate you so much. Whether we know each other personally or if you are a fellow animal lover and decided to support Brownie we are so appreciate of your generosity. The fact that literally within 24 hours of us posting so many of you decided to donate to Brownie means the world to me and my family.
As you may know Brownie is almost 15 years old and considered a super-senior dog at this point. I think about the fact that if she was a human she’d be starting her sophomore year in high school. Just as another fun fact, Brownie is 4 years older than my brother…likee she truly is a part of the JaViKaKa siblings but shes also our baby?? Sorry anyways getting back on track - somehow despite her age, she is still thriving and we are so incredibly grateful to have had so many years with her and we hope to have many more years to come.
We’ve been dealing with these corneal ulcers for the past 6 months and for various reasons they refused to heal. Luckily Brownie’s eyes are still fully intact and the vet is hopeful that the surgery will allow her eyes to heal fully. If left untreated she would very likely lose both eyes in the near future.
We’ve received a tremendous amount of support from your donations, prayers, and even helping us figure out the logistics of having this surgery. I seriously think I’d be crying everyday if I had to go through this alone but I felt the opposite this week. I simply feel gratitude. I’m grateful that we have such a supportive and loving community of friends and family to be here for us and Brownie.
Brownie’s surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday. We will post more updates as the days go on but please know that your donation made this possible. We’ve been telling Brownie everyday how much people love her and she acknowledged by peeing on the couch 🥴. Jokes aside - thank you all again we love you soo much 🤍
