Hello,
I’ve spent most of my life doing my best to help others when they’re in need—never imagining I’d one day be the one asking for help. Unfortunately, the past six months have brought my family to an incredibly difficult place.
In July, my brother suffered a severe fall and broke his femur. What followed was every family’s nightmare. He was admitted to the ICU and had to be intubated twice so he could breathe. There were moments when we truly did not believe he would survive. By God’s grace, he has stabilized, but the emotional, physical, and financial toll has been overwhelming.
While navigating that crisis, I was laid off from my job in August without any advance warning. I did not receive severance and eventually exhausted my state unemployment benefits. Since then, I have used all of my savings, maxed out my credit cards, and done everything possible to stay afloat while actively seeking work.
I was recently offered a part-time position, which I accepted immediately, but my start date is February 2nd—leaving me with no income before my February rent is due. My rent must be paid by February 5th, and despite reaching out to my leasing office, I was told that partial payment is the only option to avoid eviction.
As of now, I have no way to cover rent or basic groceries for my family.
Asking for help is not easy for me, but I’ve reached a point where I must set pride aside and ask for support. Any contribution—no matter the amount—will help me keep a roof over my family’s head, put food on the table, and give me the chance to stabilize while I begin working again.
If you’re able to help, please know that your kindness means more than words can express. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you’re able to give.
