My daughter and I are very excited to embark on this venture.  We are both very passionate about rescue work and she had the idea to join forces to raise funds to hold a no cost spay/neuter clinic.  Let me tell you more about us and our mission. 

I live in a very rural area of central Utah and have been involved in rescue for most of my life.  I own 6 dogs -5 of them being rescued and have an additional 3 fosters.  I have also rescued many other species such as horses, donkeys, pigs, cats, ducks, and goats. My daughter has followed in my footsteps and has joined in the effort by pulling strays from the streets and fostering them until the stray hold was up and providing them a loving forever home.  She currently owns 5 dogs because of those efforts and has strained her finances to the breaking point in vet care for them.  We have jointly fostered and found forever homes for multiple litters of puppies and owner surrenders and are seeing the need to help prevent the pet overpopulation crisis that is happening in our nation instead of reacting to an impossible situation due to people breeding faster than pets can be saved.  

So to take the first step-we have teamed with the best veterinarian in Utah. (Yes-he really is) Dr. John Anderson with Central Utah Animal Hospital has happily committed to helping us provide a spay and neuter clinic.  We would like to target this effort in small rural towns and provide this at no cost.  We are going to hold the first free spay and neuter clinic in a very small rural town called Eureka, Utah.  Everyone involved will be volunteering their time and Dr. Anderson is only charging for the actual procedure at a discounted rate, we will also be utilizing the FFA students from the local high school to help spread the word, to help with fund raising, to help organize the clinic and any other needs that may arise which will help educate high school students about the overpopulation crisis so they can pass what they learn onto younger students, family and community.

All proceeds will go to spaying and neutering pets in our clinic, and if we can raise enough money we will hold more clinics and keep this going as long as we can.  I would like to make a difference in our great state and be the example for the rest of the states to follow.  One person may not be able to change the world-but one person can light a match that will start a fire and burn for the world to see.
