It seems like these days we each have our own stories to tell about surviving a natural disaster. Living through such an event can leave a deep mark that persists long after a new “normalcy” is found. Reflecting back on my own story with Hurricane Helene, I am encouraged by the kindness and generosity that we humans can show. If any of you know Antonette, then you know true kindness and get to see that everyday! Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica with a force much more intense than we experienced here in Asheville. I watched the joy on Antonette’s face turn to fear for her family and concern over many days with lost communication. Antonette is our glue in the CVICU. She keeps us organized and functioning. I’d love to help her family restore their homes.
Please join me in supporting Antonette. Every contribution will help her bring funds back home to provide hope, safety, and a fresh start for her loved ones. Together, we can help Antonette carry the same kindness she shows us every day back to her family in Jamaica.
