Kai (formerly known as John) is a pittie who was rescued in early May from Devore shelter in San Bernardino, CA. He was found as a stray and is under a year old. Kai was so terrified at the shelter. He wouldn’t let anyone near him. This resulted in him being put on the URGENT (euthanasia) RESCUE ONLY list within 3 days of being there. Essentially immediately after his shelter hold (72 hours) was up. I was able to get him 2 extensions!
Something in him touched my soul so I started networking him on social media. He had 100s of people rooting for him. I reached out to dozens of rescues. But, as many of you know, there is a MAJOR crisis in the shelter/rescue community. People are dumping their dogs left and right and there are not enough adoptions or fosters. Plus, breeding is still a problem. I finally had a rescue agree to take him (Miko’s Rescue Mission) with another Rescue’s help. He is SAFE!
While he does have his necessities now, he does have reoccurring costs, just like any pet does! Luckily, he is currently with a wonderful “foster” who is an in-home boarding. We were looking for a place for Kai and found an airbnb allowing dogs…and just so happens she is a retired service dog trainer!! Kai has been doing wonderful with his foster dog siblings AND cat siblings.
Keeping him here does cost $200 every week…and that is discounted. This is a lot for Miko’s to keep up with.
PLEASE donate to Kai’s care!
He has also had NO inquiries for foster to adopt. If he leaves a paw print on your heart, please consider adopting him.
This is just the beginning to his new life!

FREEDOM!!!!!
