Hello. I was diagnosed in 2016 with Multiple Sclerosis. I thought I had it under control until we moved to Stuart, Florida. I have been in and out of the hospital many times since we have been here in Florida. My 13 yr old son, Ben and I moved into an apartment in August. I was excited for our new adventure. A few weeks later after moving into our apartment, I was had the worst relapse I have ever had. I lost my ability to walk and I was hospitalized for 6 days. I stayed in a Wheelchair for about a month. I am now able to walk but still have some balance issues. My hands are still completely numb which effects my ability to type. There are times when I trouble with short term memory and holding on too thoughts. Because of my recovery I have been unable to work. I am in the process of applying for disability, but it’s a very long process. We are needing funds to help us stay in our apartment. We are in a great building with a lot of helpful neighbors. We are currently on the waitlist for a few shelters, if we have to leave the Apartment. I am not usually one to ask for help, but sometimes you have to put your pride aside.
