For those who don’t know him, George Trafton Jr. is the son of NFL pioneer George Trafton, who helped shape the NFL league in the 1920s. George Jr., a true Malibu legend, is a pro surfer, skateboarder, musician, and the epitome of “Malibu vibes,” embodying the heart and soul of the Malibu community.
To me, George has been more than a legend—he’s been my neighbor and dear friend for 26 years, along with his longtime friend Kathleen Gozzi, who I’ve also known for just as long. George has been the best uncle to my little girl, Love , and we shared a deep love for Big Rock Beach, a place he could never imagine leaving.
During the recent Palisades- Malibu fires on January 7th, 2025 , all of PCH, our Big Rock Beach, hillside, most of Malibu was obliterated by the fires. George stayed behind to protect his home and his father’s memorabilia. Tragically, he LOST EVERYTHING. Severely burned, he’s now in the ICU, fighting to recover.
I’ve set up a *spotfund to help George return to the beach he loves. Malibu will never be the same, but it will give Malibu a chance to reclaim its spirit through the one person who truly embodies its iconic "Malibu vibes." spotfund.com *HelpTheBuLegendGeorgeTrafton
