Penn State football coach James Franklin had two special guests escort him from the team bus to Beaver Stadium on Saturday.
Deven Jackson, 10 of Shermans Dale and Noah Benner, 9 of State College had the opportunity to walk with the coach form the buses, through the tunnel of fans, into Beaver Stadium. The boys also got the chance to take the walk around the field with Franklin and greet the stadium personnel, a tradition for the coach.
Jackson, the 10-year-old Shermans Dale boy who lost both of his legs two years ago to meningitis, was able to restart his football career in August after receiving a set of carbon fiber running blades. Deven was also hosted at a Penn State practice earlier this month.
Benner was diagnosed with choroid plexus papilloma in 2012 and has had brain surgeries to remove tumors. Noah was 'adopted' through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation by the Penn State football team and has been hosted at team functions.
