Gabi is basically an orphan. At an early age, Gabi's mother left her and her brother with her aunt so she could clandestinely immigrate to the United States. There is little contact and no financial support. Her father was never in the picture. Gabi's aunt worked odd jobs to try to support Gabi, her brother, and her own son, putting them through a local Catholic school for any chance at a decent education. Gabi just graduated from the Instituto Panfilo Ortega with a basic high school education and near the top of her class. Her dream is to become an electrical engineer by studying at the Universidad Politecnica de Honduras. Just one problem. Her family doesn't have the money. Her aunt asked if I would support Gabi, and knowing the family and their integrity from my time in Honduras, I agreed to help. Costs for Gabi to attend college in Honduras are about $120 a month. This covers tuition and travel expenses to and from the university. Many people have heard me mention this family before. Here is a chance to partner with me to help one family climb out of poverty by helping Gabi get her college degree. I send the money to her Aunt via Western Union. Her Aunt send me the receipts that say the money has been deposited for Gabi's tuition. In Honduras, you can deposit tuition into a bank account from which the University withdraws the money needed.
