Welcome to the 2nd campaign in our journey to stop the pain of suicide from happening to another family. We set out on this journey 2 months ago when we lost our beloved Mack to this awful disease. Mack was a light that even though he has left this earth his light will never go out. Over the last few months, we have met 100's people who knew Mack and they all have said the same thing, "His soul was pure and his light was bright". This Foundation was created in his honor and to help so many who can not afford mental health care and who feel their light isn't worth shining.
Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States and the Mack Fund was created to help people in need and who feel like they have no reason to continue. Here at the Mack Fund, our sole purpose is to raise money to fund therapy organizations here in Colorado that will provide therapy sessions to individuals who can not afford to continue their care. This is our 2nd campaign and this go around we will be working with therapists from Sondermind, which is an organization that provides all kinds of therapy for all kinds of needs. In this second campaign to raise money we want to reach not only those who feel their light shouldn't shine anymore but for those who have been left behind by individuals that took their own life. What we don't realize is there is a whole demographic suffering greatly out there and needing help just as badly as those suffering from mental health crises. The people who are left behind by individuals who have taken their lives are left with such grief and such pain that sometimes they themselves end up being another victim of suicide and they take their own life due to not being able to cope with the pain they are left with and the void left by their loved one. In this second campaign, we want to get those left behind the help they need to cope with their grief and learn ways to be able to continue and start to heal from the immense loss they feel.
Our goal this time is to raise $50,000 and reach another 100 people. Each of these individuals will receive $500 which will pay for 7 therapy sessions with a provider from Sondermind and they will receive help in setting up Colorado Medicaid so that they can get health insurance and continue their mental health care.
