Helene Charles is a gem. She has spent her life giving and blessing others for Jesus. She is always finding creative, super-organized, and fun ways to make the world a better place.
I met Helene while in Uganda while she was working with children's ministries as a missionary.
Last year, she went through a difficult time. She was involved in an accident (not her fault - someone bashed her from behind) and lost her reliable car. She had to undergo concussion treatment for several months and discovered that one of her kidneys needed to be removed because of a cancerous tumor. She underwent kidney removal surgery and cancer-related testing. As a result, she could not continue working and used up all of her savings.
Thanks to God, she is now recovering and rebuilding her life. However, she has recently sold her car because it was no longer reliable and is looking to replace it.
On September 12th this year, Helene will be turning 40. A big milestone birthday! I propose we pool a birthday gift and raise funds to contribute to her car. I think this would bring out her lovely smile and make her 40th memorable.
She is a tough, resilient, and faithful child of God. Let us bless her with this token of our appreciation for all that she is and has been to each of us.
God bless you!
