Just over one year ago, shortly after welcoming her youngest son—now 14 months old—Victoria was hospitalized with a severe bone infection in her right femur known as osteomyelitis. What began as a frightening diagnosis quickly turned into a long and complex medical journey.

Since then, Victoria has undergone two surgeries on her leg and has been hospitalized multiple times due to ongoing complications. She was initially treated at John Muir Hospital and later transferred to UCSF for specialized care. All of this occurred while she had a six-week-old baby at home who had just been discharged from the NICU, along with her older son who also depended on her care.

After her first surgery, Victoria returned home on IV antibiotics and showed initial signs of improvement. Unfortunately, her condition has since worsened significantly. She did end up having a secondary surgery due to reoccurring infection, and has since now lost complete use of her right leg and suffers from paralysis and severe nerve pain extending from her hip to her toes. She is unable to walk, cannot bend her knee, and what used to be slightest touch causing excruciating pain throughout her leg has now become complete numbness of the entire leg. Despite extensive medical evaluations, her symptoms continue to progress, and her condition remains unresolved.

Due to her physical limitations and the medications required to manage her pain, Victoria has been unable to return to work. Her husband has been working tirelessly to support their family, but with two young and growing boys, the financial strain has become overwhelming. They are currently struggling to cover basic living expenses, including housing, food, and clothing for their children.

We understand that times are challenging for many, but any donation—no matter the amount—would be deeply appreciated and would make a meaningful difference for their family during this incredibly difficult time. With continued medical care and support, we remain hopeful that Victoria will regain her health and independence.

Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and support.
