One week before Christmas 2022, a verbal altercation led to Nicole being physically assaulted for the last time. With no other family or even a friend nearby - not even a place to go - she found herself fleeing that state. My husband and I, with a small house and three teenagers, offered her and her son to stay with us temporarily. It was supposed to be for a night. She and we assumed what she was going through she would be able to get shelter through one of the local agencies and then social workers would guide her in the right direction for her to get on her feet and the help she needs. It's been almost a month. She is directed from one local agency to another. The shelters, she is told, are all at capacity.
My goal with your help is to raise enough to set them up in an apartment nearby with some of life’s necessities so they can move forward. Most of all, her 6-year-old son says he would like a place for him and his mommy of their own so he could go to school with other kids and make friends, since he can only be attending an online school for now. They deserve to be happy and safe. Please help however you can.
