My close friend and long-time employee at Unleashed in Evanston, Debby Gallivan, has decided to move to Kansas seeking a better life for her son, Patrick. Patrick, who is now 28 years old, is diagnosed with a rare chromosomal anomaly; 3q29 deletion syndrome and autism, both of which are also complicated by a host of medical issues.
Sadly, the services provided to Patrick in Illinois have been less than adequate or worse, leaving him in neglectful living conditions. Kansas has superior social services for people with special needs and a significantly lower cost of living. Debby and Patrick are moving there to ensure that Patrick has the support and care that he needs to provide him with the best life possible.
Unfortunately, the costs associated for Patrick and Debby to move out of state and get set up in a new town are very high! I hope to alleviate some of their financial burden and help provide them with a soft landing in Kansas.
Would you be willing to make a financial contribution to support their move? Any gift, no matter how big or small, would be so meaningful and impactful.
Although I will miss Debby and Patrick, I wish them happiness on their new adventure!
