October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we're gathering the skate community to support survivors and raise awareness about domestic violence. Last year, we raised over $3,500 for two amazing local organizations, and this year we’re aiming even higher! (I have chosen the platform Spotfund instead of Gofundme in an effort to maximize our fundraising and avoid high fees.)

All donations over $50 will be entered into a virtual raffle for a chance to win some larger ticketed items:

    1. Monthly membership (valued at $125) &
    2. Seasonal membership at Xanadu Roller Arts in BK (valued at $300)
    3. A set of In Out Hard Tile Flooring (valued at $150)
    4. A pair of Riedell Crew Roller Skates (valued at $200)
    5. Custom Color Jam Neo Quad Roller Skates from GH Skates (valued at $420)
    6. Fit 4 Dance - 5 class package (valued at $100)
    7. Fit 4 Dance - 10 class package (valued at $175)
    8. Fit 4 Dance - 2 weeks of unlimited classes

Survivors are closer to you than you know; according to Safe Horizon, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men in the US will be affected in their lifetime and often suffer in silence. It’s important to know you are not alone; you can find resources at linktr.ee/melodyskates.dvresources ๐Ÿ’Ÿ

โœจ Together, we rolled for a cause! โœจ

Thanks to our amazing community, we raised $5,600 at the 2nd Annual DVAM Skate Meetup & Fundraiser! ๐Ÿ’œ

Every share and donation made an impact, and we’re thrilled to announce that this year’s funds will benefit the Anti-Violence Project (AVP) and The Northern Brooklyn Coalition.

A huge shoutout to all everyone who made this event possible and all our donors—you are the heart of this movement! ๐Ÿ’• Your generosity, time, and support truly brought this vision to life.

But the work doesn’t stop here. Let’s continue to raise awareness, live with intention, and commit to building a world free from harm. Through thoughtful actions, supportive conversations, and showing up for others, we can all make a difference ๐Ÿซ‚

Thank you for speaking out, skating with purpose, and standing in solidarity with survivors. ๐Ÿ›ผ

Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in partnering, sponsoring or volunteering in 2025! Email at  contact@melodyskates.com
