Koneley fell on October 17, 2022. She just returned home on November 8, 2022. During that time, she was in an urgent care and then transferred to two emergency rooms after xrays determined she needed advanced care. She had a 5 hour surgery on October 18, 2022. We spent a week on an orthopedic floor and then 2 more weeks to on a rehabilitation floor. She is home now. She is unable to bare weight or bend her leg. She broke her femur in 3 places, tibia and knee. It is being held together by numerous screws, nails, and a plate. She has a wheelchair and will be immobilized at least anther 4 weeks and it could take up to 2 months before she walks again. The bills are starting to come in and not everything is covered by insurance. She will need ongoing Physical and Occupational Therapy at each phase of her recovery. Our goal is to get her back to as close as she was before the accident. Most of you know, Koneley was born with Cebral Palsy that affected her mentally and physically. She has additional physical problems as well. This just compounded her medical conditions and expenses. We are so proud of her. She just wants to walk and go back to school. Whether you send a good thought, prayer or help out in some other way, know you have a special place in all of our hearts. Thanks in advance for your thoughtfulness and kindness.

Everyday she starts on the exercise bike for 5 minutes. In the first picture, she is completing an obstacle course. Next, she is carrying a 10 lb weighted ball. Lastly she is pulling 60 lbs on the sled. She has be honing her soccer kicks and jumping with help. She also is going up and down the stairs. We are very proud of her strength and perseverance.
