Mid morning on July 10th, I experienced something that always terrified me... a fire in my home. I was not at home but at a doctors appointment in the middle of a procedure that I could not just stop in the middle of. Not that my presence could have made any of this easier to process. It is being investigated, which I was told there would not be any information for the next 2 - 3 weeks. I do have renters insurance but that won't be able to processed completely until the investigation is completed. I also don't know how much they will be able to help because I didn't have photos of my items before they were destroyed. A lesson learned. I was informed by my property manager that the owner does not have any insurance on the unit. My unit is classified as a complete loss. As I write this I am still in shock and experiencing quite a bit of disconnect. Here's where I need your help, I have the immediate need of securing a new accommodation. I will need just the things necessary for every day living and self care as well as replacing specifically my work clothes and shoes. I have the most difficult time asking for help, but I know this is something I can't really handle on my own. If you can help in any way, it will be appreciated more than you could ever know.
