My name is Holly, and I am the owner of Holly’s Pet Shoppe and Holly's K9 Campus, a small local dog grooming and training business.
For years, I've had a vision of creating something bigger than a grooming salon. A place where dogs can be safely cared for, trained, socialized, groomed, and loved, while giving their owners a dependable resource right here in our community.
That vision is what led me to the opportunity to purchase the former pet resort here in McPherson, Kansas.
Instead of starting completely from scratch, I have the opportunity to take an existing facility that was created specifically for caring for animals and give it a new life. And I want to turn it into something special.
My goal is to bring back a full-service K9 campus offering boarding, daycare, grooming, training, and other services for dogs and their families. I want it to be a place where people can feel confident leaving their pets, knowing they are being cared for by people who genuinely love animals and take their responsibility seriously. But I don't want to simply reopen the doors and call it good.
I want to build on what is already there and continue improving it. I want to create a safe, clean, professional, and welcoming environment for dogs and their owners.
Why I'm Asking for Help:
I'll be honest: I never do fund raisers. In fact, asking people for financial help is incredibly uncomfortable for me. I've always believed that if I want to build something, I should work for it myself. But as I've shared my plans for the K9 Campus, several people have encouraged me to reach out to the community. They suggested that there may be people in McPherson and the surrounding communities who would genuinely like to help bring this facility back.
So I'm taking a chance and I'm asking our community to help me make this opportunity possible. Purchasing and revitalizing an existing pet resort is still a significant financial undertaking. There will be the purchase itself, improvements and possibly repairs, equipment, cleaning and sanitation needs, licensing and operating expenses, and countless other costs that come with taking over and improving a facility like this.
The good news is that we aren't starting with an empty piece of land. The bones are already there. The opportunity is already there. Now we need the resources to bring it back to life.
This Isn't Just About a Business
I believe McPherson deserves quality pet services close to home. I want families to have somewhere they can trust when they go on vacation, work long hours, have an emergency, bring home a new puppy, or simply need someone to care for their dog. I want to create jobs. I want to provide opportunities for people who love working with animals. I want to promote responsible pet ownership and proper training. And I want this facility to become a place where people know they can turn when they need help with their dogs.
Most importantly, I want to build something that becomes a community asset, not just another business.
My Promise to You
If you choose to support the K9 Campus, I want you to know that I take that support seriously.
My promise to you is transparency. I will provide updates throughout this process so you can see where we are, what we're working on, what we've accomplished, and what still needs to happen.

The money raised will go toward purchasing, improving, equipping, and getting the K9 Campus ready to serve our community. I will be open about major expenses and milestones.
My promise to you is that I will continue working for this.
This fundraiser isn't a replacement for me investing my own time, money, sweat, and effort. I'm putting myself into this project because I believe in it.
My promise to you is that I will keep improving it.
If we are fortunate enough to raise more than what is immediately needed for the purchase, those funds won't simply disappear into a general business account. They will help us continue improving the facility and expanding what we can offer.
And most importantly:
My promise to you is that I will remember that you helped us get there.
If this facility becomes the K9 Campus I envision, it won't be because I did it alone.
It will be because people believed in the vision. People shared the fundraiser. People donated what they could. People told their friends.
People said, "Yeah. We want this back in our community." That means something to me.
