Please please help my soul dog, Ollie, get his Heart Procedure

TLDR: My sweet Ollie was diagnosed with mitral valve disease last year that will soon develop into congestive heart failure and he was just accepted into the recently developed TEER procedure at CSU Vet. We are over the moon about it, but it’s very expensive. Any bit of help would be super appreciated! This boy is my heart and soul❤️

More details below if you want to read!

If you know me, you probably know that Ollie is not just a dog or a pet to me. He is my soul dog, my heart, and one of the greatest things to ever come into my life.

In 2015, when I was struggling deeply with my mental health and had to take a medical leave from Washington University STL, Ollie came into my life. When I was completely going through it, he gave me a reason to get up each day, a reason to keep going, and more love than I knew I needed. This sweet boy saved me ❤️

Ollie just turned 11, and now it’s my turn to save him.

Ollie was diagnosed with mitral valve disease last year, a progressive heart condition that has now begun to develop into congestive heart failure. I’ve been hard core panicking since his diagnosis; I’m not ready to learn how to live without him. His heart is working harder and harder, and without intervention, we know our time with him could become heartbreakingly short.

We were incredibly, incredibly fortunate to be offered a spot off the waitlist for the TEER procedure at Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. TEER (transcatheter edge-to-edge repair) is a minimally invasive procedure that CSU pioneered around 5 years ago mirroring the TEER procedure in humans. It can help improve the function of the mitral valve and, most importantly, give Ollie more time.

We are so thankful he has this opportunity, but the procedure and the associated care are extremely expensive.

Ollie has spent nearly 11 years giving me unconditional love, companionship, and a reason to keep moving forward. Anything I can do to give him more happy, healthy time with us, I want to try.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will go toward Ollie's heart procedure, hospitalization, and the veterinary care surrounding his treatment. If you're not able to donate, sharing his story means just as much to us.

Thank you for loving Ollie with us and for helping us give our boy more time. ❤️
