My journey began in 2022 with my first heart attack. My 2nd was in July 2022 and my 3rd this month in August 2023. I’ve been in and out of the hospital ever since. Right now I’m in Atlanta Georgia to get my 2 100% blockages cleared out. The blockages are as hard as cement as one doctor told me in May this year. No doctor in WV could take care of me and I’m not stable enough for open heart. So I ended up here at Emory University in Atlanta through several tries by doctors to take care of my condition. I have had almost everything paid for up to now. But because I’m out of state, the cost is going to be enormous to us. I had one consult here 2 weeks ago and just the trip alone is around $500. I was scheduled Friday the 25th ( 3 days ago) to be here for Cath lab. I had to come Thursday and stay the night in a hotel to be here on time. On the way the financial office called and told me my part after insurance was $2750. They wanted it then, but I pleaded that I needed time. They’re gonna let me make payments. But then the doctor told me I had to stay the weekend and have another procedure Monday (today) This cost is gonna be incredible for us. I’ve had to get money from my parents to make this trip and I shouldn’t be a burden on them as they have their own medical to deal with. I’m sure the cost is gonna double at least. I could really use some financial help until I can get to work and pay everyone back for the help. I’ve always tried to help everyone from doing a food pantry to being a volunteer firefighter and doing what I can in the community. Thank you.
