I never imagined I would be in this position, but my children and I are facing an unexpected housing crisis after being scammed by someone posing as a legitimate landlord on Zillow.
I used my entire savings to pay what I believed was the first month’s rent and security deposit for a home. After sending the money, I discovered it was a scam. The person disappeared, and I lost everything I had saved to secure stable housing for my family.
As a result, my children and I are currently staying in an Airbnb while desperately searching for a safe, permanent place to live. Unfortunately, the nightly cost of temporary housing is extremely expensive, making it even harder to save enough to move into a new home.
This experience has placed us in an extreme financial hardship. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward temporary housing, a security deposit, first month’s rent, and helping us secure a safe, stable home for my children.
