A few nights ago, my world changed in an instant. While my car was parked safely in my driveway, a group of teenagers in a stolen vehicle came speeding into my street during a police chase. They crashed into my car, knocking it into the middle of the street their vehicle slammed into the side of my porch.
They jumped out and tried to flee, but the police were right behind them. In seconds, my property was damaged, my car was destroyed, and my only way to work was gone.
I’m still waiting for the police report and unsure how to move forward, but the reality is: I’m without transportation and without a clear way to replace it.
I’m a struggling nursing student, balancing classes with driving for Lyft to make ends meet. Since May, I’ve been unemployed, and Lyft was my only source of income that fit around my school schedule. My car was more than just transportation — it was my livelihood, my independence, and the way I supported my twins.
Now, I’m facing the fear of falling behind on bills, missing classes, and not being able to provide for my family. Every donation will go toward getting a reliable replacement vehicle so I can get back to work, keep up with school, and take care of my kids.
If you can help in any way — through a donation or even just sharing this — it would mean more than I can ever express. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me through one of the hardest moments I’ve faced.
