I’m Melissa, and asking for help like this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
For a little over four years, I dedicated myself to my career as a Case Manager at Farah & Farah. I worked hard, built a life, and did everything I could to stay financially independent. Then, unexpectedly, I lost my job—and with it, my primary source of income.
I was already living paycheck to paycheck, so losing my income so suddenly has left me facing something I never imagined: the possibility of losing my home.
I’ve lived in my home for two years and have never been late on my rent. This is more than just a place to live—it’s the home I’ve worked so hard to maintain, and right now, I’m doing everything I can to hold onto it.
The good news is, I’m not giving up. I currently have four job interviews lined up, and I’m determined to have another job this week. I’m actively pursuing every opportunity I can because I want nothing more than to get back on my feet, regain my independence, and take care of myself.
I’ve never been someone who asks for help. I’ve always tried to handle things on my own and be the person others could count on. Having to admit that I need help right now is incredibly humbling and honestly frightening.
I’m simply asking for a little help with rent to bridge the gap between losing my job and starting my next chapter.
Even a small donation could make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser could be just as valuable and may help it reach someone who can.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for caring about what I’m going through, and for helping me hold onto hope during a difficult moment.
This is a setback—not my ending. I’m working hard to turn this around, and I just need a little help getting there. ❤️
