******5/28/2024 Update: It is with great sadness that I report that Leanne Lowen lost her battle with cancer Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 7:46 pm. She passed at her home which was one of her wishes, surrounded by the people she loved the most. We are now asking for your help in paying for her final expenses. Anything would help us as we try to give her the services she so deserved. We are uncertain if she will receive the life insurance that she should as she worked and dedicated her life to serving others. I would like to thank you all for all that you have already done for us. If you are unable to donate, please pray and help us remember Leanne as she was such a precious soul. Our family is so very grateful for your support and thank you in advance for your consideration in this matter. Leanne will be so dearly missed, but we know she is in paradise with the ones she loved and is no longer in pain. Blessings to you all.
****4/19/2024 Update: After a two week hospital visit we discovered that my mother's Triple Negative Breast Cancer has unfortunately metastasized. It is now in her liver and on her sternum, two ribs, and her cartilage in her rib cage. It is classified as stage 4. We are working on finding the right treatment plan and facility for her. My mother is going to continue to fight this disease. Our family is asking that you please consider donating to this spotfund to assist us in paying for expenses that come along with more chemotherapy. There are not very many options for her treatment wise, however we are going to have the doctors conduct scans every three months to ensure that the treatment is working. I ask that if you cannot make a financial contribution to continue to lift her up in your prayers. We believe that miracles do happen and that she will go into remission for a very long time. Thank you all for everything you have done for us during this battle. We are so very grateful and appreciate everything you have done. Blessings.
Greetings. My name is Averi and my mother is currently battling triple negative breast cancer. She was diagnosed with this cancer in November of 2022. Since she has been through chemotherapy and a single breast mastectomy. Since her procedure in July of 2023, she has experienced a myriad of health problems and complications. She has been hospitalized numerous times, once for three weeks. She even had to be life lighted to Kennestone Hospital where she was placed on a ventilator for eight days. After a three week stay she was able to return home. She has lost over 100 pounds in less than six months. Since then she has lost her FMLA, short term disability benefits, and was placed on unpaid medical leave that her job had provided. About a week ago she had to make the very difficult decision to retire from her job. She was a special education supervisor and teacher for over 24 years. My father, Jason, has had to also take a leave of absence from his job to assume the role of my mother's primary caretaker. He has stood by my mother's side and has given her the very best care he possibly could. They have exhausted all of their finances and investments to pay for daily expenses, medical costs, etc. They are looking into retirement disability for her, but this process is not a short one. It will take over 2 months to receive a determination and then around two weeks after that to receive any benefits. They have had to do some really difficult things to ensure my sister and I have what we need and I would really like to help relieve some of their worries and financial concerns. My father has gone through rental assistance programs, food banks, government insurance, unemployment and have exhausted these avenues. Many of the programs have a limit on how much and how often they provide assistance to needy families which is understandable. My mother is still receiving Keytruda treatments and will continue to receive these treatments for the next year. This particular drug has caused a lot of complications in my mother. I am asking for any help/assistance you can provide to them as they have given of themselves for so many years for so many people. I just want them to focus on healing while they await a determination. Thank you all for your time and consideration in this matter. Blessings to you all.
