Hi everyone,

My brother Mike Hesse is on the lung transplant list and he desperately needs your help.

He is on the waiting list for a lung transplant due to multiple bouts of covid pneumonia that cause scar tissue in both his lungs. From that he developed idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis that is not curable. His only hope is a lung transplant. Due to his struggling to breath, he then developed pulmonary hypertension. He can only have the right lung replaced because 7 years ago he had triple bypass surgery and the artery for the left lung is fused to his heart so the surgery for the left lung is too tricky to attempt. He is currently on 4 liters continuous oxygen at rest and needs 12 liters just to walk from his bedroom to the kitchen.  This life-saving procedure is his only chance to breathe freely and enjoy life with his family. He is only 61 and is not eligible for Medicare. The insurance he is paying for out of pocket is very expensive and he is on disability due to his inability to work.

Once he gets his new lung he will be in the hospital for a few weeks and then on home confinement for quite some time. He is in need of help with his medical expenses and travel expenses once he gets his transplant However, the overwhelming medical expenses pose a significant challenge. Mike and his wife,  are both on disability. They  are struggling to meet these costs alone. We are reaching out to you to raise $50,000 to help cover his medical expenses and ensure he receives the care he desperately needs.

Your donation can be the breath of relief this family so deeply needs. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to our goal and to giving Mike the chance to live without restrictions and breathe. Please, take a moment to donate and be a part of this life-saving journey. Your generosity can make a world of difference. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.

With gratitude,

Kathy Hesse
