Dear Family and Friends,
In August 2025, we visited Belev Echad in Israel, an organization that helps wounded Israeli soldiers heal and rebuild their lives. We got to spend time at the Belev Echad house, meet some of the soldiers, and learn about the different ways they are supported during their recovery.
One program really stayed with us: Hounds for Heroes, which provides specially trained therapy dogs to wounded soldiers who are dealing with the physical and emotional impact of their injuries.
We both LOVE dogs, and we know firsthand how much comfort, happiness, and love a dog can bring. We also love Israel, and after meeting the soldiers at Belev Echad, we wanted our Bat Mitzvah project to be something that could make a real difference in their lives.
So, instead of gifts for our Bat Mitzvah, we are asking our family and friends to help us give this gift to someone who really needs it.
Each therapy dog costs $5,400, which includes the specially trained dog plus a full year of food and medical care. Our goal is to raise enough to provide at least two therapy dogs to wounded soldiers.
It would mean so much to us to know that our Bat Mitzvah helped give two soldiers not just a therapy dog, but a companion and best friend to be by their side as they heal.
We hope you’ll help us make it happen!
Love,
Aviv & Leyla
