In 2023 my family relocated to Michigan for a job for my husband, who is a minister.
We moved about 900 miles for this job, and 2 years later they ran out of money and can no longer afford to employ my husband.
We have a 9 yr old and a 10 yr old in elementary school and a 20 yr old, away at college.
Our housing is a perk of his job, and despite our attempts to compromise with them while he looks for new employment, they are making us move out by October 31st, 2025.
So we are being evicted by a church and are desperately trying to keep our kids housed and not disrupt their lives too much, while we scramble to adjust to our new reality.
We are moving back home to Minnesota, and while he has a new job waiting there, I will be unemployed for 6-8 weeks while my nursing license gets transferred and I look for a new job.
This money will be used for moving expenses and living costs while we attempt to recover from the devastating blow to our finances and family.
