Megan McIntyre, 26, is an intelligent, driven young woman who has dedicated her life to criminal justice. Since she was a teenager, she worked tirelessly to achieve her dreams, earning three bachelor’s degrees and two master’s degrees in Forensic Science, Criminal Psychology, and Criminal Justice.

In May, after years of dedication—including time spent working at a local animal shelter—Megan reached another milestone: she secured a position as an investigator with the New Jersey State Public Defender’s Office.

But just as her future was taking shape, tragedy struck.

A Life-Altering Diagnosis

Megan was diagnosed with two brain aneurysms caused by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Surgery was planned to remove the AVM, eliminating the risk of a rupture or stroke.

A Devastating Turn

During surgery, Megan’s larger aneurysm ruptured, leading to critical complications. Emergency measures saved her life, but she now faces a long and uncertain road to recovery. She has been in the ICU for over a week, receiving 24/7 care from an incredible medical team.

Though she remains on a ventilator, she is beginning to breathe on her own and respond to commands—small but powerful signs of hope. However, the next two weeks remain critical.

How You Can Help

Megan’s time at the Public Defender’s Office was short (only eight months), leaving her with minimal paid leave. As she fights to recover, she faces overwhelming medical costs and substantial student debt.

If you are able to contribute, no matter the amount, your support will help ease the financial burden on Megan and her family during this incredibly difficult time.

Please Share & Keep Megan in Your Prayers

Megan is a fighter, but she needs our help. Whether through a donation, sharing her story, or keeping her in your thoughts and prayers, every bit of support makes a difference.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sharon:  Megan has made amazing progress. She's able to nod yes or no. Shrug her shoulders. She was able to pick up a dessert & let her mother know she wanted that chocolate ice cream. She also wanted the spoon to feed herself. Michael:  Meg took 3 or 4 steps forward & then backwards when the PT folks got her up! She practically stood right up on her own.  Today she stood right up & climbed back into bed on her own. Also took a swallow test to determine what she can eat. Nancy: Behind the scenes, Mary McIntyre, working with the VFW & Elks Club, raised 2K for Megan We thank them for their continuing effort to help Megan.  Also, there are Prayers Groups taking place in NJ, DE, NC, SC, MD, PA. Fl & NY.  We Thank You & our Glorious God. Kessler Acute Neurological Care Center will be working with Meg and she will be transferring shortly.

4/5/25, Today I want to bring you up to date on Megan's progress.  She has had a really tough time with the Vazo Spasms.  She has needed repeated medical intervention  to diminish the chance of another stroke.  Today her brain scan does not show any spasms. We hope she has finally passed this critical point.

On the upside, she woke up several days ago & is able to move both legs, her left arm & to focus her eyes.

Megan is breathing on her own, but is still intebated due to the need for medical intervention.   If tests show no further spasms they will remove it soon.

The really critical condition, with the help of God and her incredible medical team, should be ending soon, and evaluation to determine residual disabilities, & plan rehabilitation will begin.

We are so thankful for your contributions, prayers  and words of encouragement.  Thank You
