Hello! As many of you know, my name is Alli Stamatellos and I am a 19-year-old who suffers from several disabilities. I have been diagnosed with Orthostatic Intolerance (an autonomic disorder that affects heart rate and blood pressure) and recently with other mental health/ neurodevelopmental disorders such as anxiety, depression, and autism. My neurologist and I are also looking into Type 1 narcolepsy. I am currently receiving treatment and looking to get a service animal, but they are costly- up to $20,000. I am lucky that the organization will help me cover some funds via grants, but the required down payment is $2,500. I am a college student and though I work, I can't work as much as I'd like due to my disability. I hate to ask for help, but I really believe having a service dog will improve my quality of life and make it easier to function as a full-time student and future teacher.
