Hello Friends and Family,
I would like to personally introduce myself if you don’t already know me, my name is Onye Stevenson, I am a 19-year-old dance major at the University of Southern California in my Sophomore year. My passion for dance has filled my life since I was 4 years old and competing began at age 5 and continued for the next 13 years. I am fluent in several dance genres: ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, ballroom and lyrical.
Although my passion is dance, I am proud of my academic accomplishments which included graduating Cum Laude in 2021, a 3.75 GPA at the end of my freshman year with a current GPA of 4.00 as well as a current member of the Alpha Lamda Honor Society.
This year has been filled with exciting changes in my life and I wanted to share the most exciting one with each of you. I have been accepted to Maymester in Paris. The program kicks off in the Spring of 2023 in Paris, France. As you can imagine, the cost associated with such a program is expensive and I am seeking sponsorship opportunities to make this dream a reality.
Asking for financial assistance is never easy but I am humbled by the path God has put me on to share my gift with the world. The opportunity that lies before me is one that is only extended to a select few and I am honored to have been chosen. With the assistance I would be able to have the opportunity to learn more about how dance and other art forms are seen through the European culture and how it is appreciated in a more artistic and creative country. If I can share any additional details surrounding the program or my acceptance, I welcome that opportunity.
