Akiko’s Story
Akiko is the kind of person who spends her life pouring into others. She is a hardworking wife, mother, educator, and talented hairstylist who takes great pride in helping people look and feel their best. Whether she is in the classroom or behind the chair, Akiko brings kindness, dedication, and care to everyone she meets.
Recently, Akiko received a life-changing diagnosis of colon cancer. She has already undergone surgery, and doctors have now confirmed that she is facing Stage III cancer. As she begins the next phase of her journey including holistic care and preventative treatments that are not covered by insurance, her focus needs to be on healing and spending time with her family.
For someone as hardworking as Akiko, stepping away from work is not easy. Time away from the classroom and the salon means lost income, yet important expenses like her salon booth rent and daily living costs continue. Our goal is to help relieve some of that burden so she can focus fully on her recovery without the added stress of financial pressure.
