Hello, this is my father Juan Vega. A loving dad of two, and amazing grandfather to my wonderful daughter Zoey. A hard-working and selfless family man. The center and true anchor of my entire family. Anyone who has met him can tell you how caring and loving he is. A father figure to anyone he meets. He's my dad, my daugther's only grandfather, and I love him with my whole heart.
On April 22nd 2026 he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke while driving at work. Miraculously, he did not harm himself or anyone else while driving. But the stroke has affected him greatly. He's been in the hospital receiving amazing care since then. He was admitted to ICU for a few weeks, but has graduated from that since. A brain surgery helped the bleeding in his brain, and we are so thankful for that. He's made such good progress. He can speak some, hear us, and has minimal vision. He's still got all his personality! Unfortunately, he has total paralysis on his left side. He cannot eat or drink as of now, and has a G-Tube placed. Basically, we have a long road ahead of us. Palliative care, rehabilitation, medication, physical therapy, and round the clock care. The hospital is looking to release him soon, and we are doing everything we can to make sure he gets the care he needs. We can't do it alone.
Anything helps, and everything goes to him and his recovery. We thank anyone who wants to help, and anyone who has reached out with love and thoughts. We appreciate the support and love we have from everyone. Juan loves you all.
