Hello, We are the Gibson family, we are a family of 7. We have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. Our oldest 2 children are both Autistic and receive no benefits of any kind from the state or government.
In June of 2022, our lives were flipped upside down when our 17 day old baby boy Gabriel passed away in VCU hospital from CDH. His case was severe and he had several surgeries and his little body just couldn’t take anymore. Our lives will never be the same, we loved Gabriel so much.
During that time, the job I was working let me go as they could not hold my position open. They gave me one week to return to work but my wife had placenta previa and she spent over a month in the hospital. With 5 young kids and no family to help or any babysitters I had to stay home and take care of our kids without any income. I do not qualify for unemployment because I had only been working there 2 months.
I missed about 4 months of work during my wife’s hospitalization and while fighting for Gabriel. Thankfully another company finally offered me a job.
This last month that job ended and I was again let go. I’ve been job seeking since, however we are down to one vehicle, which my wife now uses to commute to her now, full time job. So my resources are limited. We are in deep with medical bills and trying to keep up with bills just to keep a roof over our heads. The process in our state to get any financial aid is long and arduous, as of now we only have my wife’s income and it’s not covering food, shelter and all the things we need to just live. I’m at my witts end as to what else I can do financially and I am asking for your help to help me and my family.
Our faith in God keeps us going, but we are near homelessness and we desperately need your help.
Thank you for your time to read our story and for any amount you can donate to help us through this temporary yet difficult and struggling time. God Bless ~ The Gibson Family
