Heart disease has always been more than a statistic to me. It’s personal.
When my mom was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), we learned firsthand how unpredictable and frightening heart rhythm disorders can be. Her pacemaker became more than just a medical device; it became a symbol of strength, resilience, and the power of modern medicine. Watching her navigate that journey taught me the importance of early detection, consistent care, and unwavering hope.
But our family’s story doesn’t stop there.
My grandmother’s battle with cardiovascular disease has been another powerful reminder of why awareness matters. After years of heart complications, she received an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device), a device that literally helps her heart keep beating every single day. Her courage inspires me daily to advocate for heart health and to fight for a future where fewer families face the same challenges.
That’s why I’m proud to join the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement and the Miss America Organization’s efforts to empower women everywhere to know their numbers, recognize the signs, and take charge of their health.
Every donation to my Go Red for Women fundraising page helps fund lifesaving research, education, and awareness, ensuring that more moms, grandmothers, and daughters get to share their stories of survival and strength. Together, we can make a difference one heartbeat at a time.
