For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to get 15 World War 2 (WWII) veterans to New Orleans to visit the National WW2 Museum. I've chosen this cause because this mission means a lot to me, and I hope you'll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach out goal.
Our team of volunteers are working on our 2nd annual WW2 veterans trip to visit the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA scheduled for Aug. 12-14th. 15 WWII veterans ranging from 93-102 yrs old will get to experience a trip once in a lifetime . Everyone attending including their guest, our medical team, photographer and coordinators will travel on a charter bus from the American Legion Post 654 in the Spring Branch area of Houston and head to the Higgins Hotel (WW2 host hotel) attached to the museum in New Orleans. Right now we’re still fundraising to meet our goal of 28k.
So far the Texas VFW gave $10k, District 17 Texas VFW gave $5k, Many Lions Clubs around the Greater Houston area have or will donate and Boots for Troop once again donated the tour bus taking us to our destination. We have a couple of fundraiser planned in Conroe and In Houston before our departure date but still We need help with hotels rooms, wheelchairs, breakfast/lunch/dinner, shirts, hats, and sorts of goodies for all WW2 vets, their guest and for anyone riding on the trip.

We have the proper documentation from the IRS showing that we (Texas VFW and Lions Club) are a charitable organization for those seeking a tax write off.
