My parents have always been generous and giving people and the last to ever ask for help. I'm doing this as a surprise because I know they would not accept assistance knowingly. They certainly deserve to be on the receiving end for once... The last day to donate is Wednesday, August 17, as I need to get them the funds as soon as possible. Spotfund does not charge any fees to you or them. They will receive the total amount donated. (Make sure not to "tip" - choose "other" and put 0 for tip amount.)
"Several people have asked what they can do to help my parents, Larry & LaVona, who were evacuated from their home due to the Oak Fire burning in Mariposa. With the electricity out for several days, all food in their refrigerator and extra freezer had to be thrown out. (They even need a new refrigerator.) One of the most helpful things would be to replenish their food supply. They lost about $500-$700 worth of daily cold food and stored meat in their extra freezer. If I can reach 200 to 300 friends and family who will donate just $5 each, we'll be able to bless them with groceries.
