As the room mom for Ms. Couzins’ 5th-grade class, I’m reaching out to our incredible Madeira community with an important request. Jami Couzins, a beloved teacher in the Madeira School District for 28 years, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and is starting her chemotherapy.
I reached out to the 5th grade families recently to raise funds for a gift basket that would provide a few comfort items and let Jami know how much we are thinking about her... I was overwhelmed with the amount of support that came pouring out for Jami. In less than a week, $850 had been donated, along with gifts and gift cards to add to our basket. Additionally, I received several requests from others (past students, families of past students, Jami's friends) to open up our support efforts to a wider group of people. With Jami's permission, and the assistance from some other amazing 5th grade moms, Kirstin Klein and Abbie Rudibaugh, we have created this giftcrowd page!
Jami has devoted her career to educating and inspiring our children, always showing kindness, patience, and strength. Now, it’s our turn to support her as she faces this challenging journey.
We’re raising funds to help cover the costs of Jami’s medical treatments, unexpected expenses, and day-to-day needs for her and her two sons, Luke and Spencer. These contributions will help provide some relief, allowing Jami to focus on her health and family during this difficult time.
Every donation, big or small, will make a meaningful impact. Let’s come together to show Jami how much she means to us and ensure she feels the love and support of her community.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion. Together, we can make a difference.
If you are a 5th grade family who has already donated, THANK YOU! Approximately half of those funds were used to build the gift basket that will be delivered to Jami later this week (which includes $200 in gift cards), and the remainder will be deposited into this fundraiser.
