On May 18, 2022, our dear friend, Jack Mui, lost his battle with depression. Our hearts are devastated by the deep pain he felt towards the end and broken for his family he loved and left behind.
Mental illness knows no boundaries, it affects all races, religions and all people regardless of socioeconomic status. In our own Asian community, there has been a long stigma against mental illness and most suffer in isolation and shame.
Jack was a devoted father, husband, son and an all around class act human being. He was always thoughtful and present in conversation. He always had a quick, sharp and witty remark at the ready.
One of his favorite things, aside from the Yankees, was the TV show, "The Office". Jack took great joy in inserting "that's what she said" after any sentence he saw fit. He read every book and listened to all the podcasts about the show.
So today, on his one month anniversary of his passing, a day before Father's Day we are honoring our beloved friend, Jack, and dedicating this run to him.
Please help us to continue to show his dedicated wife, Susan, and his children, Jacob, Jackson and Jacqueline, our love and support in these difficult times.
This one is for you, buddy. We're grateful to have had you in our lives and will continue to do what we can to shed light and awareness to mental illness.
