Salutations lords and ladies! I'm Ryan Murphy: a mystical nerd, sweet chef, and future computer scientist. I have rigorously improved my computer science skills by always taking the most difficult, pertinent classes available. I hope that my mastery of computer science will allow me to assist those affected by the digital divide by designing an efficient server network that maintains an affordable price. To achieve my dream, I have become a prospective student of the Stanford Summer Session.
I'm ecstatic about participating in the Summer Session because not only can I hone my computer science skills, but I get the opportunity to further my horizons by mingling with fellow academics. In addition, I have the full spectrum of Stanford's exclusive programs and events. However, there are imposing fees associated with attendance that my mother and I need your help with.
There are multiple ways you can help: spreading the word, offering information about scholarships, and donating. Of course, you don't have an obligation to give a single utterance or a halfpenny, but even the most trivial mention of my call to a friend could snowball into a guarantee of my attendance at the Summer Session. So how about it: will you help?
From his mom: Ryan has talked about attending college since he was in kindergarten and absolutely fell in love with education. He is not a typical teenager. He is not on social media, chooses not to have a television in his room, saves every one of his paychecks from his part time job, and reads in his free time more than he plays video games. He currently takes AP classes and has a 4.3GPA now in his junior year. During this intensive two month course he will earn college credits that transfer as well as have the opportunity to explore college life before he makes the full dive after graduation. The funding options for summer session college classes are not as extensive as those available for traditional semesters of college. We have completed the FAFSA and are waiting for word on the Pell Grant. There will be additional cost associated with the program to include transportation to/from, dorm room supplies, additional meals (the meal plan only covers 15 meal PER WEEK and Ryan eats 3 meals per day), getting him a laptop, and the other incidentals that come during college life. If Ryan is unable to attend Stanford this summer all funds will be put towards his college aspirations post high-school and saved in his personal savings account.
