NEW UPDATE!
Hello Friends!
Here's the latest from the orphanage. The Director just contacted me, explaining how they are now seriously behind in getting needed food, clothing, bedding, cleaning and laundry supplies and more, that they have not had funds to get for a long time now.
The small amount of support we are now able to give monthly falls way short of lasting a whole month. We now have a week left before we can send our small support for August, and they are needing some help quickly right now.
Please message me or use the fund page ASAP if you can help. Thanks so much!
In addition, the Director recently returned from a few days in the hospital, and urgently needs help to clear the remaining $160 of the hospital bill. God will be speaking to one or more folks to do this; please be attentive if He is speaking to you!
We are currently asking God to send more people with a heart to provide monthly support for this orphanage, as we are currently unable to provide enough food and supplies for them each month.
This is a family run effort to feed and clothe 43 children in Kenya who have lost their parents, many killed brutally right in front of them in a civil war.
HELP NEEDED for:
✓Food and Rent,
✓Clothing ,
✓Beddings,
✓Firewood for cooking meals,
✓Non food commodities such as water purification tablets and mosquito nets
✓Detergents,
✓footwears,
✓Other cleaning supplies,
✓Improved shelter etc., etc..
This ministry would ideally have dozens or hundreds of people helping to support them, but in reality its only three individuals helping from very small incomes, with a couple others chipping in when they can.
There are NO organizations or churches currently helping, so every little donation is a BIG deal for these kids!
They truly depend on God for provision, month by month. We can not come near to meeting the needs ourselves, as we are only able to supply about $550 a month from the three supporters now, and the children suffer with not enough food, bedding, mosquito nets, etc., and really need over $1,500 a month to get by for food, supplies, and a little help to care for 43 kids. A big chunk of the $550 goes to rent and utilities.
They do grow some fresh produce when the weather allows, but it is not near enough.
Have you found your place yet to obey the Lord to care for the fatherless? This is the perfect place to help, as anything you can donate one time or monthly will make a HUGE difference in these kids' lives.
I (David Russell, USA) have created this fundraiser to try to get more assistance for the orphanage, as our efforts are no longer enough, as costs have risen dramatically in the last couple years. If desired, you can contact me to discuss at drussell25@proton.me or 425-214-6323. Every penny donated will be sent to the orphanage, as this page does not take a cut, nor do I.
Proverbs says, "He that has pity on the poor, lends to the Lord, and He will repay."
Here is the story of the orphanage in the Director's own words:
NEEMA HOPE FOUNDATION CENTRE
Hello,
This Centre is committed to helping kids whose parents have been lost to civil war and trauma, and as a result of that are neglected, abused and lacking the parental love that all kids need.
It's my sincere pleasure therefore to welcome you all in this platform in joining hands and heads together in ensuring that the future of our nation of Kenya survives for generations to come.
My name is Dickson Abuga Bundi from Kenya East Africa in Nyanza province, lower Western part of Nyanza; Nyamira county.
I am the CEO and founder of Neema Hope Foundation Centre. This crowdfund page was created to help the orphans get food, clothing, shelter, education, medical attention, better sanitation, beddings, clean water for drinking, spiritual guidance and counseling, love, hope and security.
Other things are like getting electricity, solar system to be fixed for power supply, construction of water tank, digging out a modern well which will provide water especially when it goes dry for a long time, office and permanent structures.
This initiative to help the kids started in the year 2012 after the post election violence in Kenya where most communities got involved and many lives were lost and thousands of homes and families were displaced and ended up roaming around streets while others were taken to rescue centres and homes and the rest to the refugee camps.
Many children in several communities large and influential, small and not influential, we're left either total orphans or partial orphans.
Some children witnessed their parents slaughtered and killed in cold blood, something which caused a lot of grieving, trauma and psychological torture, something which made many to fall into hopelessness. Many lacked where to stay, sleep, eat, learn or get treated whenever they felt sick.
Some orphans got sent to their grandparents, some relatives, caregivers or foster parents who mistreated them by battering and abusing them in terms of giving them hard work, more chores to perform as their own kids rest and watch them, causing a lot of humiliation. This pushed my heart, sympathy, love and mind to use all the available resources to see their faces smile one more time.
I started with 2 kids of my sister who was a victim of circumstances in July, 2012. I loved them and cared for them like my own.
By the end of that year the number increased to 6. By the end of 2019, the orphanage had 32 orphans. By the beginning of 2020, the roll had increased to 40, then about 3 years later 3 more were added, who had nowhere to go. All with 1 cook, my wife, my brother and as time goes by am planning to add two more worker to help in other logistics. That's in meal preparing and cooking , teaching basic education foundations and giving professional guidance and counselling.
Things are never easy to feed and care for all those kids. It's through the support from all well wishers like you who will make their faces smile for a little while.
For your information, our government is very much corrupt that political leaders end up getting the funds left to support the poor, orphans, the old, those with disabilities, widow and widowers into their pockets while proudly saying that they are supportive.
I remember reading the Bible and got some verses talking about the orphans and widows, who are always before the Lord, who will not leave or forsake them.
Am very much thankful and grateful for our brothers and sisters in Christ near or far who are sacrificing at times by giving whatever little they can afford to support this ministry.
May our Lord Jesus Christ abundantly bless them all and add to them as they struggle finding and giving. A hand that giveth is the hand which receiveth.
Am therefore with all mercy and heartfelt thanks, requesting anyone who's touched by this hard task to pray, give moral and material support, help to donate funds for the same legitimate cause.
Thank you for giving to a cause that is close to God's heart!
