On July 25, my life changed forever. I Samirya Richie 19 years old was shot five times in an attempt to take my life in a drive by & By God’s grace, I survived, but my recovery has been long, painful, and overwhelming. I spent time in the ICU and am now facing months of healing, surgeries, rehabilitation, and emotional recovery.
I am a college student who has been working hard to build a better future through education. Despite everything that has happened, I refuse to give up on my dream of finishing school. Unfortunately, this tragedy has left me unable to work, and the medical bills and everyday expenses are quickly becoming more than I can manage.
