A Little Background
As the owner of your friendly neighborhood cat café, I do try to keep an eye out for kitties in need. When I saw a desperate post about an injured cat in Grafton, I knew I had the resources, publicity, and connections to get him some help.
After establishing contact with Danielle and her family, who have been feeding Seymour and his colony since moving to the neighborhood in 2024, I received a picture of the damage while I coordinated some trappers to snatch him:

There was apparently quite a lot of blood, and the damage looked far worse than it actually was. I got him to the emergency vet on Sunday, where we learned that Seymour had a nasty ear infection in his right ear, plus the wounds on his neck. We think at least part of the injuries were caused by him digging at the itchy infection.

That first bill came out to $480, so I am crowdfunding for that initial cost. The bill has been paid with my credit card, but this was quite a financial blow and I was hoping to get some donations to cover it!

How He's Doing Now
Seymour is still a little nervous. He has a few little mats in his hair and a few bald spots (I bet from a reaction to fleas), and he's quite skinny despite being 10 pounds.
He learned to meow this morning, so we are proud of him!
We have a free neuter voucher for him. He is being treated for anxiety, his ear infection, and a UTI. (He peed all over his room, my whole house smells like Seymour Pee 🫠)

Seymour is still a bit nervous in his new room, but he's slowly acclimating and healing.
Next Steps
My goal is to get Seymour in the system of another rescue since I am not technically a registered animal rescue, and to hopefully foster him and socialize him at Mugs 'N Mittens Cat Café until he can be adopted.
My other goal is to help the family feeding his colony trap, spay, neuter, and release all of the cats on the street. I have already been sent $200 to help the family and we are looking out for reduced-cost spays and neuters.
Any excess funding received on this GoFundMe will go to the spaying, neutering, vaccinating, and welfare of other cats in Seymour's colony in Grafton.
