If you are able to help my father in any way at this time, it is so much appreciated. My dad, David is one of the most caring, sweet and selfless people I have ever known. He has always been a hardworking father and husband, having worked for the same company for over 40 years and finally retiring at the age of 70.
Unfortunately in 2021 my parents were scammed out of the majority of his retirement. Our family was not made aware of this situation until it was too late, and will likely not see any of that money recovered, this totaled over $250,000. My father went back to work for a bit of time, but the job was not a good fit for him and they ended up letting him go. He has been applying for other places since but no luck. Having to find work at 73 is hard.
This year has been difficult, as my mom passed away suddenly after being hospitalized for a falling injury and incidentally finding out she had Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. She was in the hospital for over a month receiving care and treatment. After a severe decline we made the impossible decision to stop treatment and keep her comfortable as her health had drastically declined.
My father just received a 14 day notice to vacate after falling behind on his monthly space rent in the 55+ community he lives in. This totals nearly $6,000 in past due rent. They do offer a monthly payment plan going forward to help resolve this balance, which we will have him agree to and figure out finances and getting back to work.
I wish my dad was able to enjoy his retirement as he should be able to. I am heartbroken that he is experiencing this. Our family has been helping him out, and Daniel and I do what we can to help him. We recently had to figure finances for my mom's funeral and burial.
Any little bit would help. We are not the type of people to ask for help so this is very hard to write. Thank you all for the support this year during all of this.
