The above billboard is placed at the entrance of our town and welcomes visitors to our town. It may represent some of the town folks, but it doesn't speak for all of us. For those in Alamogordo who have a different perspective, please donate to support a billboard that represents you!
The design for the billboard will be inspired by this diversity sign and created by local artists.
A local business, Paw in Hand vet clinic has offered to pay for the signage(about $800) and I am raising money to cover the monthly fees of $250. There is a 1 year contract to get this pricing and then we can extend by the month or year at a time depending on funds. The goal is $3000! Thank you for your support! Any overage in donations will go to extend the sign display or put up more signs!
This billboard is so important to this community because the folks represented on the Diversity sign above are persucuted and oppressed in this town. I moved here 2 years ago and have observed hate speech in public, observed employees being demeened by their bosses, folks teased by co-workers, stopped a medical professional from a HIPAA breech as he was mindlessly about to tell me another patients name, heard stories from community members of being harrassed and bullied. It is important to empower those to stand up for their rights and know they have support. I have heard over and over from commuity members that they don't trust people and live in fear so they just keep to themselves. It is time to build awareness that this is not ok and will not be tolerated in this town. Show your support by making a donation of what you can and if you cannot donate money, please share!
