I Never Thought I Would Have to Ask the World for Help
Six months ago, I was incarcerated. Today, I am standing on the other side of those 180 days, free but facing something I never imagined I would have to face alone.
My name is [Clayton], and I am asking for help—not because I expect anyone to fix my life for me, but because right now I need a chance to rebuild it.
The hardest part of coming home wasn't simply walking away from incarceration. It was coming home to a world where I no longer had the one person who had always been there for me.
My mother passed away in March 2026.
She was my heart. She was my last real support system, the person I could turn to when I had nowhere else to go. Losing her has left a hole in my life that I don't know how to put into words. And now, while grieving her loss, I am also trying to figure out how to survive and start over completely on my own.
I have no family support to fall back on. No safety net. No place where I can simply say, "I need help," and know that someone will be there.
So I'm reaching out to strangers, friends, and anyone willing to hear my story.
I know my past may make some people question whether I deserve help. I understand that. I made mistakes, and I accept responsibility for them. I am not asking anyone to forget my past or excuse the choices that led to my incarceration.
I am asking for the opportunity to make different choices now.
I am actively seeking employment in the Zephyrhills area. I want to work. I want to become self-sufficient. I want to establish stable housing, get reliable transportation, have appropriate clothing for work, and take care of the everyday necessities that come with starting over.
Right now, even those basic things are difficult for me to accomplish without help.
Your donation would help me with:
• Housing and a safe place to stay
• Transportation so I can search for and maintain employment
• Clothing and necessities needed to work
• Food and everyday living expenses
• Basic costs associated with rebuilding my life and becoming independent
I don't want to spend the rest of my life defined by the worst chapter of my past.
I want the chance to write a different chapter.
I want to wake up every morning knowing that I'm moving forward instead of wondering how I'm going to make it through another day. I want to work, become stable, and eventually be in a position where I can help someone else who finds themselves standing where I am today.
My mother isn't here to see me rebuild my life. That hurts more than I can explain. But I want to believe that if she were still here, she would want me to keep going.
So I'm going to keep going.
If you can donate, even a small amount, it will help me take another step toward stability. If you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser with someone else would mean more to me than you know.
I'm not asking you to give me a life.
I'm asking you to help me get the opportunity to rebuild one.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for seeing me as a human being rather than just my past, and for helping me take these first steps toward a better future.
With gratitude,
Clayton R Wrinn
