We are starting this GoFundMe to support Lauren and Tim after the unexpected early arrival of their sweet baby boy, Dakota, who was born 7 weeks premature. Lauren had planned to work right up until her due date around January 19, but everything changed when her water broke at just 33 weeks. She spent 6 days in the hospital before welcoming Dakota into the world earlier than expected.
Dakota’s early arrival has created unexpected financial strain for the family, especially during the holiday season. Lauren was counting on her final paychecks to help cover Christmas and other essential bills. In addition to caring for newborn Dakota, Lauren and Tim have three other children at home, ages 15, 11, and 10.
Baby Dakota is currently in the NICU and does not yet have a discharge date. He is under blue light therapy, experiencing heart rate dips, and working hard to learn how to regulate his body temperature. Lauren is traveling back and forth to the hospital multiple times a day to feed and care for Dakota, while still making sure she is home for her other children after school.
At this time, Tim is the only one able to work and is commuting to Naples in an effort to make ends meet. We are asking for help to support this wonderful family during the holidays—whether it’s to help with bills, gas for hospital visits, or simply to make sure their children can still enjoy Christmas during this difficult time.
Lauren and Tim truly appreciate all of the love, prayers, and support that have already been shown. Please consider donating or sharing, and follow Lauren for daily updates on how baby Dakota is doing during his hospital stay. Every bit of support means more than words can express.
