My best friend is in a really tough spot, and I’m setting this up on her behalf because she’s too overwhelmed to do it alone.
Her dad passed away, and he left behind his car. The only vehicle her family has to get to work and manage everyday life. She’s worked so hard to keep up with the payments, but now she’s hit a roadblock. The insurance lapsed, and since she’s not on the title, she can’t reinstate it. The car company won’t refinance in her name, and transferring the title has turned into a legal mess.
Here’s the heartbreaking part: the car is almost paid off. She’s already covered 85% of it, and just has $3,471 left. If she can’t come up with that, she’ll lose the car completely, along with all the money she’s already put into it. And her family will be left without any transportation at all.
